A Mua Ake – Employment Preparation and Placement Programme

A Mua Ake means ‘For the Future”. This programme is specifically designed to help young people aged 18-24 prepare for and secure employment.

A Mua Ake  is a  12 week programme. The first 8 weeks is preparation. Young people complete modules such as CV writing, first aid, site safety, personality profiling, interviewing skills and work experience. Underpinning the programme is instilling and developing good work ethics and desirable work attitudes.  After the 8 week course the young people are supported in actively seeking and securing employment opportunities. Once a placement has been secured, our Employment Coaches will act as an advocate for 6 months for the young person and the employer to support positive outcomes for both parties.

If interested, please contact Julie via email at julie@springboard.org.nz or call/text 021 730 822.

A Mua Ake wants to ensure that no young person is overlooked and marginalized, it aims to equip those considered hard to employ, those that would end up on paths of crime and unemployment with valuable skills and positive work ethic. In working with this group of young people, A Mua Ake is helping to create a safe and thriving community but even more importantly it is helping the young people connect to and discover their purpose.
